item transfers
This guide outlines the process for trading in your old 3.0 items for new versions as part of the final steps for Dystopia Rising Live, targeted for completion during the April opener. The process is detailed and involves several steps to ensure all items are properly transferred. Please make sure you read through this to avoid confusion. The outlined process is only for Kansas locals. If you’re planning to call Dystopia Rising Kansas your home chapter but still have another chapter set as your home, please email both chapters to begin that process. Please email us at info@dystopiarisingks.com and copy your current home branch on the email.
The fastest way to get your items for our April opener is to complete and submit the Item Transfer Spreadsheet. This allows us to complete your items in advance and have them ready for you to pick up when you check in at the April event.
We have to note that this system is the product of the hard effort from several of our neighboring chapters. We borrowed these processes heavily from Dystopia Rising: Texas and Dystopia Rising: Wisconsin. Their teams have put a lot of effort into streamlining this process, and they’ve shared their best practices and spreadsheets with us. We’re deeply grateful for their collaborative spirit and energy on this project.
Here’s How It Works:
Spreadsheet Setup
Open the Spreadsheet (here, or using the button above). There’s several tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet: Conversions, an example, and a template. Start by duplicating the tab labeled: TEMPLATE: DUPLICATE ME. Rename your tab with your [PLAYER NUMBER] [CHARACTER NAME] (see the example tab)
You will use the spreadsheet to submit all your crafted items, creating a new tab for each character using the format “[PLAYER NUMBER] [CHARACTER NAME]” (e.g., “19807 Redline”).
Item Documentation
Document various item types including Armor, Weapons, Shields, Vehicles, Gizmos, Brews, Injected Brews, Area Augments, Blueprints, and Traps using the drop down menu in the Item Type column.
Items such as Herb, Scrap, and Produce do not need transferring; they maintain their expiration dates. Scrap without an expiration date will expire in April 2026.
Certain items (like LPC’s, Custom Mechanic cards, and Forage/Salvage cards) are no longer valid and cannot be traded in.
Each spreadsheet entry should include: Item Type, Item Name, # of Uses (if applicable), Expiration Date, and the Number of Items.
Items must be grouped by matching expiration dates.
It’s crucial to use the full item name to avoid issues during sorting.
Blueprint Exchange
Due to many obsolete Blueprints, you will receive “Blueprint Transfer Order” for items that no longer have a direct 1:1 conversion. These BTOs can be exchanged only during Dystopia Rising Kansas events at the DMV.
A conversion list and a list of removed Blueprints are provided in the linked spreadsheet to help determine whether you receive a direct conversion or a BTO.
List the blueprints that need a DR Live copy. Do not list the obsolete ones.
Criminal Influence Blueprints will not be exchanged. We will automatically issue you a Blueprint Transfer Order for those blueprints.
Criminal Influence Blueprints will be discoverable throughout the game as you interact with NPCs, the play space, and complete jobs. You cannot redeem BTOs for Criminal Influence Blueprints.
Turn in Process
Bring all of your 3.0 items to the DMV (item cards, all of your blueprints - everything you’re exchanging). We will verify an item to item exchange (armor for armor, expiration dates, etc).
We’ll also count all of your blueprints and compare that with the number of blueprints to be exchanged to you. The difference will be credited in BTOs. For example, you own 30 blueprints, but only 20 have a 1:1 Live conversion. You will receive 20 Live blueprints, and 10 BTOs that you can use to choose other blueprints at any Dystopia Rising Kansas event at the DMV.
We will use the spreadsheet you completed to write your cards and prepare your packet. Please make sure the items you bring to turn in are accurate and true to the spreadsheet. Do not forget to bring your transfer items; we won’t be able to complete the exchange if you forget your items.
